A&O Koeln Neumarkt - Cologne

All in all everything was superb, had a really good stay of 4 nights. The setting was quite good and perfect within easy reach of Stadtgarten Cologne😀

It is clean and efficient. The location is very good for both sight seeing and shopping.

The price seemed to have increased a lot from last Christmas.

THe hotel was very well located for visiting Koln sights. We made a last minute reservation yet were able to park and have our rooms ahead of time. Clean and a nice size for 2 people with friendly, capable staff. We will look for A&O in other cities for staying.

Everything seemed superb, helpful staff, new-fashioned rooms. The breakfasts were above average, always with a huge variety of meals. The location was magnificent and amazing, close enough to the center with easy access to shopping malls and the Christmas market. I loved staying here...

In a busy are,a but noise was not a problem.

Good value for money. Easy access to public transport.

Very limited facilities. We are a family and requested adjacent rooms, but this was not provided at check-in. They were able to give us adjacent rooms, but the beds were not prepared and we had to do it ourselves. Not recommended for families as most of the occupants appear to be young singles on sporting or other holidays. They were boisterous and very noisy late at night and early morning. All said, it's still good value for money.

We stayed in a double room. It was really clean and well-maintained and not too small, which was a pleasant surprise. It was also nice that the hostel had a bar in it that served food and beer 24 hours a day!

Overall it was a good place to stay, but the interior of the building looks a little like an institution.

The hostel offered a clean and comfortable environment, and I appreciated the great breakfast options, including delicious pancakes. The noise from the street and other guests was disruptive, particularly during the late night and early morning hours. A decent stay with room for improvement.

Within walking distance to everything downtown. Very good Continental breakfast and liked that there was a bar, gameroom (with games you can borrow), bike rentals and wifi for 5 euro a day. Breakfast was only 4 euro a day for adults and 2 euro for kids. I like the way the hotel prices rooms. Two adults pay for a double and two children are free. Fairly inexpensive parking garage and lots of good restaurants nearby.

Be prepared for very spartan rooms with no tv, parquet floors and flimsy front doors. No safe in room but you can leave things at reception by signing them in/out. Room had separate shower room and toilet room. Due to it being a hostel too, lots of young people making noise and partying although not excessive. Walls are also very thin, and the people next door coming back from partying woke us up, as they talked for about 1 hour before falling asleep...for two nights. You can also hear noises come in from the courtyard if you are facing that way, which also belongs to the hotel/hostel.

A & o has a lovely spacious room in a great location, just a short walk from the main attractions. The lobby is fun with foosball and snooker tables. The vending machine is handy. I loved that the beds had USB ports and a little shelf. It's also close to a lidl, super convenient!

For the price it's a very nice hotel. It's very clean and all staffmembers speak english. The hotelbar is very nice and we traveled with a group of friends and everything was to our liking, it was near the center of neumarkt where all the gamescom festivities took place.

The waterpressure isn't that good at the top floor so the hot water can be fluctuate a bit. Also note that it's a shared Hotel/Hostel, meaning although the top floors are truly private rooms, they do enforce some strict rules when it comes to sound levels and usage of shower at night (which might not be a bad thing) but this does destroy a bit of the "hotel" feeling.

None of the heater in the room working... very cold at night... The wife cost 5 Euro per day, 8 Euro per week... I stayed for 3 days and they sold me 15 Euro for total instead of 8 Euro. I told the staff about this and she said.... I am sorry, you've paid, and I can't change it, you will have to take it !! I asked to talk to their manager, and she said: My Manager is too busy to see you. I felt so cheated.. very very bad feeling.

Great spot for solo adventurers

I stayed for 2 nights in a dorm and the vibe was chill. Staff were super friendly, feel cute. The lounge area was perfect for grabbing a beer after exploring the city. The coffee at breakfast, though, was a real letdown. Just doesn't cut it when you're waking up!
